Beccy Clennan, CLTP

Beccy’s title industry journey began in 2003 with zero experience. Over the years she gained invaluable hands-on experience and incredible mentorship leading to roles of increased responsibility and leadership. With over two decades of experience, Beccy has had the opportunity to hone her skills in every aspect of the industry which has led to her passion in overseeing and optimizing title processes for maximum efficiency and accuracy. As Title Operations Manager at Searchlight Title Services, she works to cultivate a culture of innovative solutions, streamlined efficiencies, and enhanced customer satisfaction through a strong team environment.

Beccy became involved in MLTA attending educations seminars very early in her career. She has served on MLTA committees as both committee member and committee chair.

Outside of work, she is an outdoor and health enthusiast and enjoys spending time with her family, friends, walking, hiking, snowshoeing and living life to its fullest.

Jason Nied, CLTP

Jason embarked on his journey in the title insurance world over 30 years ago and brought a multifaceted perspective to his work. Over the years, Jason honed his skills in all facets of the industry from abstracting, title examination to escrow services. His portfolio includes diverse projects ranging from residential and commercial properties to specialized endeavors like National Parks, oil and gas ventures, shopping malls, construction, and historic landmarks such as lighthouses.

Jason is an active member of the Michigan Land Title Associations’ education committee.
A native of Traverse City, Jason has woven a tapestry of professional expertise and community leadership throughout his life. Born and raised in the heart of Traverse City’s hospitality industry, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the community’s natural beauty. Currently residing on the family’s fourth-generation tree farm, Jason’s roots run deep in both his personal and professional life.

Jason’s commitment to community extends far beyond his professional endeavors. He operates the House of Bear Spiritual Sanctuary and serves on the board of directors and leads the Northwest chapter of Pagans in Need food pantry, embodying his belief in service and compassion. Additionally, he is an active member of Local Education Action Partnerships, actively contributing to initiatives such as Barder Fairs, Perchten Parades, Argihood projects, and affordable housing efforts. His dedication to community building is further exemplified through his involvement in work parties and facilitating tool shares, fostering collaboration and empowerment among residents.

Keria Shineldecker, CLTP

Transnation Title Agency

Title Insurance industry with almost a decade of experience. She began her journey in the field as a processor and has since navigated various roles, including closing assistant, escrow officer, and account executive. Currently, as the Division Market Manager for Transnation Title Agency, Keria leads and oversees the sales and customer service teams on the Lakeshore.

Keria’s dedication to excellence extends beyond her daily responsibilities; she is also a licensed Title Agent in Florida and conducts Continuing Education (Con ED) Trainings for industry partners, including real estate agents, lenders, and builders/contractors. In addition, Keria is an active member of MLTA and attends the various events throughout the year and contributes to the New Title Professionals subcommittee.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Keria is an active contributor to the Muskegon community. Her involvement includes roles in organizations such as JCI Greater Muskegon, Muskegon Community Foundation DEI Giving Circle, Athena on the Lakeshore, and MCC Foundation.

Keria thrives in the dynamic and ever-evolving world of the Title industry, where she appreciates the daily challenges and the opportunity to make a difference. With her diverse skill set and community engagement, she continues to be a driving force in her field.

Crystal Bowyer, CLTP

Crystal has been with Lighthouse since 2001 and has held various roles since joining the company as an Examiner and moving into part of the Admin Team helping to grow to over 30 offices between Michigan and Wisconsin.  Currently, Crystal wears a dual hat for the company as an Agency Manager for one of the Joint Ventures as well as the AVP of Production. She has worked in the Title Industry since 1998, starting out as a temp at an Agency in Grand Rapids.

As part of Lighthouse Title, Crystal has worked hard to drive a culture of continued learning. She has been a part of the MLTA for many years and served on the Education Committee, Title Agent and Associate Member Committee, and Tech Committee.  She earned her CLPT in 2023.

Crystal grew up in the Caledonia, Kentwood area and currently lives in Wyoming Michigan, with her family. Crystal and her husband have one child left at home who graduated from High School recently.  When Crystal isn’t working hard at Lighthouse Title, you’ll find her Camping, Fishing or Hunting with her husband.

Dustin Robbins, CLTP

Dustin Robbins is an Assistant Vice President with Mt. Pleasant Abstract & Title, Inc.  With over 20 years of industry experience, he started his career working in the title plant for a local Abstract office.  Over the years he began searching and examining, processing, closing, and managing multiple branches for the company, before moving into his current role.  Dustin has vast experience in all facets of the industry and developed long-lasting relationships with clients within the markets he serves.

Dustin is an active member of the Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA) working on the Education Committee as well as Vice Chair of the New Title Professional’s ad hoc committee.  Dustin is passionate about Education in the Title Industry and has assisted in planning and speaking at various MLTA Boot Camps.

Dustin resides in West Michigan with his wife Valerie and their three sons.  In his spare time, Dustin is active within his church, enjoys spending time camping in the summer months, and supporting his boys in their many activities.

David H. Martyn, CLTP

David H. Martyn is a Vice President and Government Affairs Manager in the Corporate Underwriting Department for First American Title Insurance Company. Prior to that, he served for several years as the Midwest Regional Underwriting Director for First American Title. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Emory University and his Bachelor of Arts degree from Cleveland State University. Mr. Martyn has practiced in the real estate and title insurance industries for more than 25 years in Michigan and Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section and the Land Title Standards Committee, is a past Chair of the Oakland County (Michigan) Bar Association (OCBA) Real Estate Committee, a member of the Board of Directors of the Michigan Land Title Association, and is a member of the State Bar of Georgia Real Property Law Section. He is a frequent speaker for the industry, including for the State Bar of Michigan Real Property Law Section, the OCBA, the Michigan Land Title Association, Emory University School of Law, the Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, the Cleveland Affordable Housing Roundtable, the Dougherty County (GA) Bar Association, Albany State University, and Lorman Education Services. He has been published in the Michigan Real Property Review, Laches (a publication of the OCBA), the Scotsman Guide, and Hispanic Health Care International.

Liz Halabu Casselman, CLTP

Liz Halabu Casselman is the owner and Chief Operating Officer of Birmingham Title Agency and American Title Agency of Lenawee. As a licensed Michigan attorney, she is a member of the State Bar of Michigan and the Real Property Law Section. She serves as the Chair of the Title Agent and Associate Member Committee, Vice-Chair of the Education Committee for the MLTA and is active with the ALTA and CREW Detroit. She is also a licensed title producer agent in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. She has been a board member of several organizations, including non-profits, educational institutions, and banks.

In addition to her work as a title agent, Liz is a partner at her family’s real estate law firm, Halabu P.C. She also founded Birmingham Exchange Company, a qualified intermediary facilitating 1031 exchanges all over the country, and she is the Vice President of Gandol Inc., a construction and commercial door company.

Liz earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from Oakland University in 2012, her Juris Doctor from Wayne State University Law School in 2015, and her Executive Master of Business Administration from Oakland University in 2020.

Eileen LaPlante-Elliott, CLTP

Eileen has been involved in the Title Insurance industry for many years, having discovered it by accident through a temp position. She has experience in most areas of the business, from agency operations to order entry, search and exam, settlement and closing and marketing. She has also worked for a regional underwriter as their state representative in Michigan.

She became involved in MLTA almost immediately by attending education seminars; she has served on many MLTA committees, her first committee was the Education Committee where she continues to be a member, in addition to PAC, Public Service and Title Agent & Associate Member committees, as well as serving on the Professional Designation Board of Review.

Eileen was elected to the MLTA board of directors in 2016, joining the executive board in 2019. She served as MLTA president from the 2021-2022. She is happy to continue serving on committees.

She credits MLTA for the creation of many friendships and working relationships with the talented professionals who are part of the title insurance industry and encourages all members to get involved, you never know what you will learn next and from whom.

She is a supporter of Habitat for Humanity, Homes for our Troops, Wounded Warrior Project, Toys for Tots, and several animal rescues groups.
Outside of her professional life, she enjoys gardening, travel, and spending time with her family.

Lisa Rozmarniewicz, CLTP

Lisa (Elizabeth) Rozmarniewicz is the Director of Sales & Marketing for Capital Title Insurance Agency, headquartered in Southfield, MI. She has been in sales and marketing for 30 years working with international medical companies prior to her finding her niche in and around the Real Estate industry in 2000. Having been a lender, a licensed Realtor and a licensed title professional, her knowledge of the entire transaction has given her the ability to understand key areas of value/benefit for each player in a real estate transaction. Lisa has been in the title industry for 15 years, the last 11 with Capital Title. Along with her full-time job, Lisa has also taught Marketing, PR, and Advertising courses as an Adjunct Professor for Cleary University, Concordia University, and Baker College Online. For the last 2 years, she has served as Chair of the MLTA Communications and PR Committee after serving as a member of this committee. Lisa has also served on the Board of Directors for two non-profit organizations, Love INC in Livingston County and The Real Estate One Charitable Foundation.

Lisa has a B.A. from Spring Arbor University and a Master’s in Marketing and Management Technology from Eastern Michigan University.

LaRee Marra, CLTP

LaRee Marra is a highly experienced Risk Analyst Manager at Legacy Title Agency, with a career spanning over three decades. She began her career in 1984, working for one of the nation’s largest underwriters, Chicago Title Insurance Company, in the iconic Columbia Center in beautiful downtown Seattle, the largest building west of the Mississippi. LaRee’s passion for education and dedication to her profession led her to Michigan, where she continued her career in Title.

LaRee is an active member of the Michigan Land Title Association, serving on the Education Committee and previously as the Education Committee and Boot Camp Chair. She is committed to lifelong learning, both for herself and others. LaRee enjoys traveling and spending time with her three daughters and two granddaughters when she is not working hard to ensure Legacy Title Agency’s success.

Brian Kasiborski, CLTP

Brian is Michigan State Underwriting Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company. In this role, he provides agency support for Michigan real estate transactions and is responsible for underwriting policy in the state. Brian is a graduate of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University College of Law. Despite having both schools on his resume, he is true Blue all the way.

A fully trained and certified mediator, Brian also serves as an Adjunct Professor at North Central Michigan College. When not chasing little white balls through the woods or chasing hockey pucks around the rink, Brian enjoys spending time with his family and supporting all things Michigan and Detroit.

 

 

Sharlene Shineldecker, CLTP/NTP

Sharlene Shineldecker has been in the title industry with the Transnation group for over 35 years. Shar started in the title industry in 1987 with the then LandAmerica group of companies. She received recognition from LandAmerica through receipt of the Achievers Circle Award and Star Recognition Award.

In 2008, she was among the group of executives to purchase the Grand Rapids and Lakeshore offices from LandAmerica and form the employee owned and operated Transnation Title Agency. The agency has grown with her assistance from 9 offices and 75 employees, to over 30+ offices and 300+ employees and now operates in additional states. Shar specializes in Escrow Operations and high-liability commercial transactions. Shar holds licenses in Michigan, Indiana and Florida. She is active with MLTA as well as ALTA, the Muskegon Chamber board and governmental affairs committee; Title Action Network, United Way and the West Michigan Association of realtors. Shar has also received her National Title Professional designation through ALTA.

Kevin Lounds, CLPT

Kevin has the honor of serving as Chief Title Officer for Lighthouse Title, solving problems and dealing with pre-close and post close issues alike. His title career started as a temporary part time summer job with Metropolitan Title posting the Title Plant in Grand Rapids in 1993. Kevin has performed all title production functions from posting to policy issuance in his 30 years in the industry through his various positions with both underwriters and agencies alike, both in Michigan and the 7 other states he holds title producer licenses in.

Kevin is a 1986 graduate of CMU with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Psychology, and a 1993 graduate of Grand Valley State University with an additional major in Group Social Studies with an emphasis in American History, and a secondary education teaching certificate. Kevin is licensed in Michigan, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC, Florida and Louisiana.

Kevin is a devout NASCAR fan, and you can catch him at local short tracks as time allows, and is a true “Disney Adult” with his retirement job of being “The Mayor of Main Street” in the Magic Kingdom on the bucket list.  For quiet time you can find him in a trout stream somewhere in Michigan.

Jacqueline M. Brink, CLTP

Having a passion for experiencing all that life has to offer, and having a witty sense of humor about it, Jacquie pushes herself daily to evolve both professionally and personally. She is the SVP of the Great Lakes Region at First National Title Insurance and specializes in partnering with independent title agencies around the country to assist them with business growth strategies.

With over 30 years of industry experience, she brings a vast amount of value to her clients including sales & marketing strategies, operation management, and business development.

She is the Immediate Past President for the Michigan Land Title Association and serves on several committees for the organization.

Jacquie is an Ambassador Volunteer for the non-profit organization Homes for Our Troops and has been recognized with numerous awards throughout her career. These include Affiliate of the Year for two Board of REALTOR Associations, Volunteer of Year, and countless sales & marketing awards.

Jacquie and her husband Scott live in Mid-Michigan, and she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, music, photography, and several outdoor activities.

Michael Holden, CLTP

Michael has been serving the title industry since 1989. Michael received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri and has previously owned and operated a large title agency. Prior joining Doma, he was national agency manager for two different regional underwriters. As an active member of the American Land Title Association®, Michael serves on several committees and has previously served on the agents’ section to the board of governors. In 2021 he was named one of the top 100 people in real estate by Top 100 People in Real Estate Magazine®.

Michael has been a speaker for several state land title association conventions and helps provide CE classes to title agents in the Midwest. Michael has a wealth of knowledge about the history of the land title industry in the United States and publishes a monthly article titled: “The Ramblings of a Title Man.” In 2007 he was recognized as “Top 40 under 40” by The Title Report™. In 2020, his second book, titled “The Ramblings of a Title Man – Second Edition” was released. His family has celebrated 100 years of service to the land title industry in 2020 and published an archival web site www.holden100.info to celebrate the century milestone for his family.

Michael and his wife Laura love leisure travel, hiking, and art collecting. Michael donates his time as an Ambassador for First Tee Cleveland and serves on the advisory board of Taleris Credit Union.

Wes Parkinson, CLTP

Wes is the Michigan State Agency Manager for Westcor Land Title Insurance Co. He started his career in 1998 with one of the nations largest underwriters working in their regional finance department. In 2004, along with a business partner, Wes bought a small title agency in West Michigan. After selling the agency in 2013, he stayed on the agency side working for a couple large Michigan agencies in operations and sales.

Wes is a graduate of Baker College in 1999 with a bachelors degree in Business. He is an active member of the Michigan Land and Title Association, where he chairs the sponsorship committee. He also has his resident producers license in the State of Michigan.

Wes lives in West Michigan with his wife Cindy and their 2 daughters Reese and Logyn. When not working he enjoys spending time at their family cottage, playing golf and Michigan State University sports.

Laurie Callaghan, CLTP

Laurie Callaghan is the VP, Central Region Agency Manager for WFG National Title and is responsible for supporting strategic initiatives, developing new relationships, and assisting with growth within the agency division.  She started her career in 1997 as a market manager for a major underwriter and has held various roles on the direct and agency side since then.

Laurie holds her title insurance license with the State of Michigan, is an active member of the Michigan Land Title Association and currently serves on the Communication/Public Relations Committee, Education Committee and the Sponsorship Committee.

When not working Laurie and her husband Sean enjoy spending time at the family cottage, being on their boat or traveling.

Tom Lico, CLTP

Tom Lico is the President and Chief Operating Officer of Capital Title Insurance Agency based in Southfield, Michigan. Tom’s professional career began in 1988 when he worked for Standard Federal Bank as a Loan Counselor. After that, he worked at GMAC Mortgage as a Loan Officer, then moved on to Flagstar Bank as an Assistant Vice President over their Correspondent Lending Department. By 1998, Tom became Executive Vice President of John Adams Mortgage Company before moving into his current role at Capital Title in 2004.

Since 2004, he has also served on the Executive Committee of Real Estate One – Michigan’s largest real estate brokerage firm. From July 2011 – July 2015, Tom was a charter member of an Agency Advisory Board of a national title underwriter. In July 2014, he began serving as a Board Director for the Michigan Land Title Association and served as the MLTA President for the 2019/2020 term. Tom is also an active board member of RESPRO.

Tom is also an accomplished public speaker, event host, and comedian having performed at industry related conferences, award ceremonies, and local comedy clubs. He enjoys golfing, traveling, golfing while traveling, and entertaining.

Debbie Haught, CLTP

Debbie Haught has been in the title insurance industry since 1986 with 34 of those years in a management capacity.   She brings her entrepreneurial spirit to each position she has held from small to large agencies, developing and managing joint ventures and successfully running an $8 million dollar organization for 17 years.   She is a graduate of Northwood University, having received her degree Summa Cum Laude in Business Administration – Management.  She is the Vice President of Operations for Mt Pleasant Abstract and Title, Family of Agencies and proudly serves on the MLTA Board.  In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities with her husband, Bryan, such as mountain biking, hiking and sailing.

Kimberly O’Connor, CLTP

Kimberly O’Connor is Michigan Underwriting Counsel for Westcor Land Title Insurance Company.    With over 29 years of industry experience, she started her career as a residential and commercial examiner in 1996 for one of the nation’s largest title insurance underwriters. She then moved on to the legal department handling claims and underwriting for several years before settling in as State Counsel. Her vast experience includes filing rates and forms nationally, and handling consumer complaints for the State of Michigan.

Kim served four years on the Michigan Land Title Association’s Board of Directors, and is currently a member of the Legislative Steering, Legislative, Sponsorship and the Professional Designation committees for the organization. Being a part of the Legislative Committee she has been an intricate part of passing several laws effecting the title insurance and real estate industry in Michigan. In 2022, Kim received the Robert J. Jay Award for her dedication and contributions to the title industry.  Kim is very passionate about education and enjoys conducting training sessions on several platforms.  In addition to numerous presentations and speaking engagements, Kimberly has presented and taught numerous Continuing Education classes for Title Insurance Agencies and Realtors since 1999.

She is a graduate of Michigan State University where she received a B.A. in Political Science Pre-Law in 1989, and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Detroit in 1993.  She is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association for Real Property and Probate, and the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property, Marijuana, and Probate sections.

Meredith R. Holtz, CLTP

Meredith R. Holtz is a Vice-President, Michigan State Counsel and Associate Regional Counsel for the Fidelity National Financial Family of Companies, which encompasses Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Title Insurance Company, and Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company. Meredith is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Women Lawyers Association, the Real Property Law Section, the Oakland County Bar Association, and the Legislative Steering Committee of the Michigan Land Title Association. She has served on the Board of Directors of the MLTA and as Co-Chair of the MLTA Legislative Committee and is the Case Law Coordinator for the Residential Transactions Committee of the Real Property Section. In 2015, Meredith was given the Robert J. Jay Award by the MLTA in recognition of her contributions and service to the title industry. In addition to providing underwriting support, Meredith has acted as claims counsel, prepared and presented educational materials at FNF and MLTA sponsored seminars, as well as for the Real Property Law Section/ICLE, conducted individual training sessions for agents and direct operations as requested, and written numerous articles for the MLTA publication, The Title Examiner. Meredith received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Michigan, and her Juris Doctor from The Detroit College of Law.

Cindy Immonen, NTP, CLTP

Cindy joined the FNF Michigan Agency team in 2013 and is their Sr. Account Manager VP for the State of Michigan.  She is an ALTA National Title Professional (NTP) and a MLTA Certified Land Title Professional (CLTP).   Cindy has over 35 years of experience in the title industry and has held many positions within our industry.  Cindy’s passion with expertise helps identify and provides timely solutions to Title Agencies and the Real Estate community.  She is a very active member of both ALTA and Michigan Land Title Association and was awarded the Robert J. Jay Award for distinguished service and outstanding leadership by the MLTA July 2017.

Cindy currently serves in many positions in her community.   Such as, Vice President for the Clarenceville School District of Wayne and Oakland Counties, Secretary of the Clarenceville Education Foundation, Commissioner of the City of Livonia Historic Preservation Commission.   She is a native of Michigan and enjoys many activities with her family.

Maura A. Snabes, Esq., CES®, CLTP, NTP

Maura Snabes earned her CLTP designation in July of 2014. Ms. Snabes is a licensed Michigan attorney and began her career as underwriting/corporate counsel for Northern Michigan Title Company in 1994, and since 2002 has been Corporate Counsel for Corporate Settlement Solutions’ Michigan and National operations. In 1995, she established Northern Michigan 1031 Exchange Company (now known as Corporate Exchange Services) which is a qualified intermediary for forward, reverse and build-to-suit tax-deferred exchanges. She is a Certified Exchange Specialist® as certified by the Federation of Exchange Accommodators and a licensed Michigan real estate broker. She regularly gives seminars on 1031 exchanges and other real estate matters to real estate and tax professionals throughout the state and is an ICLE contributor. Ms. Snabes is Chair of the Professional Designation Board of Review, on the executive board of the MLTA, is highly involved in her community and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Charlevoix-Emmet Bar Association, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Zonta, and the Antrim-Charlevoix-Kalkaska Association of Realtors. Ms. Snabes and her husband live in Charlevoix, Michigan and have three grown children. She enjoys singing, trivia, and participating in and watching competitive sports.

Robert Wuerfel, CLTP

Bob graduated from Hope College and has been working in the title industry since 1988. He spent the first 13 years working for large title agencies, and the past 20+ as President of Lighthouse Title Group, which has a network of 40+ Lighthouse Title and venture locations throughout Michigan and Wisconsin.

Bob has also been named one of Grand Rapids Business Journal’s “Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40”. Within the Michigan Land Title Association (MLTA), he has served a term as President, and has been involved with several committees and earned the Certified Land Title Professional (CLTP) designation in 2014. Additionally, he earned the MLTA’s Robert J. Jay award for dedication and service to the land title industry!

Outside of work, Bob enjoys spending time with his wife, kids, and family.  Many summer weekends are spent at their cottage on Chippewa Lake. At church, he is on consistory, plays in the bell choir and has co-chaired the building campaign. Bob is an avid rail fan for both the current train lines as well as researching historical lines that no longer exist and has been a speaker for MLTA on railroad properties.

Debra Bartlett, CLTP

Debra Bartlett earned her CTLP Designation in August, 2012 and she also earned the designation of National Title Professional with the ALTA.  Her career began in 1982 at Northern Michigan Title Company in Charlevoix, Michigan, where she eventually served as President. Her experience is multi-faceted in both the residential and commercial real estate world which includes title, closings, examination, underwriting, policies and construction. She joined the CSS staff in 2003, and currently oversees Insured Title Operations for both the CSS Michigan branches and the CSS multi-state Regional office in N Olmsted, OH.  Debbie is a graduate of Ferris State University. A native of northern Michigan, she lives in East Jordan with her husband, Steve.  She has served on many MLTA committees and the Board during her career. She was the 2016 recipient of the Robert J. Jay award for outstanding leadership and contributions to the MLTA.  She is an affiliate member of the Antrim-Charlevoix-Kalkaska Association of Realtors, a licensed Real Estate Broker, and a licensed title insurance agent in Michigan. She enjoys camping and spending time with her granddaughter.
